Alongside the world premiere of Straitjacket's sketch, 'Bruce Springsteen' will be a sensational lineup including Stewart Lee, David Cross, Rich Fulcher and Adam Buxton. National UK newspaper Metro featured a question and answer session with Straitjacket relating to their online comedy sketches. The interview ranged from the inspiration of ideas to our current project with Bob Odenkirk. Check out the interview here.

5th March 2008 - STRAITJACKET LAND MANAGEMENT DEAL
Contract for Comedy Duo

Straitjacket have signed a two year contract with comedy management Olivia Wingate Artists Ltd. The duo will be managed worldwide by Olivia Wingate who is based in New York. Her ties on the other side of the Atlantic and existing UK contacts make for an excellent partner in Straitjacket's future and we look forward to an exciting time ahead. Her existing clients include Adam Buxton, David Cross and Robin Ince.

Straitjacket have been invited to submit their sketches to video sharing site Flix55 with the possibility of broadcast on American TV channel WLNY-TV55 which reaches 24 million people. Checkout the channel now and take a look!

Straitjacket have been working with director Peter Mcadam on new sketches around Tyne and Wear this past week. You can see the results varying from weird flatmates to strange parties and odd delivery men. They are available to watch now in our video section.

Straitjacket's sketches are catching the attention of editors at YouTube and most recently the BBC. This time, Youtube have featured 'Font Perv' in their comedy section, attracting a huge 20,000 plus viewers in the first week alone. Meanwhile the BBC's Comedy Shuffle site: "showcasing next-generation comedy" has featured 'Net Dater' on the front page.

Straitjacket have secured a slot at the popular London comedy night Knock2bag, hosted at Bar FM, Sheperds Bush. The night of comedy has seen performances from Simopn Munnery and Brendon Burns. The January night will feature some of our sketches. See the dates section for further details.

Straitjacket's 4Talent award has been followed up with a national publicity push, with a double page feature in thir monthly magazine, Ten4. The article feature an interview with the duo and represents a major advance in Straitjacket's success on and off the screen. Read all about it!

Straitjacket have created a brand new channel on popular video sharing site, YouTube. The channel, with name "StraitjacketUK" will be maintained and updated with all of the new sketches as they are filmed. Watch out for new additions in the coming weeks!

29th October 2007 - MORE FILMING

After an extended absence in front of the camera, Straitjacket have got back to making video sketches, filming 4 brand new sketches over the weekend. Rosie Stancliffe travelled from London to help out, and local director Peter McAdam alo lent a hand to produce the brand new material. The sketches will be available to download soon.

The latest in the social network site boom is Facebook, which now has the distinct priveledge of welcoming Straitjacket to its millions of members. The site now has a group called 'Straitjacket', where any member is free to join.
7th October 2007 - CHARITY JACKET
York City charity bash
.
A new screening at York University for charity will be taking place on 30th October, featuring a selection of Straitjacket's work. The event, to raise money for RAG, will be held at York St John Uni campus and entry is £1. The event starts at 7pm.

When we advertise for new actors to help us make our sketches, we use a variety of websites, incluing UKScreen. Unfortunately it seems one of these websites has been publicising our requests for help via text messages, and charging you to receive them. Please be aware that we are not responsible for these messages and have taken steps to ensure it doesn't happen again.
1st October 2007 - VANCOUVER WELL RECEIVED
Success in Canada

Our screenings at the Vancouver comedy festival went down very well. Bob Odenkirk and David Cross showed our work amongst other live and pre-taped sketch comedy. It was good to see the likes of 'Pregnant', 'Font Perv,' 'Used to be Blind', and ' Jesus Christ' doing well. Check out our videos section for some of the above.

Bob Odenkirk, David Cross are hosts for a killer night of live and pretaped sketch. A whack of great new acts will join these two great performers from a little show called ‘Mr. Show’ to present a cutting edge show featuring material from Straitjacket. 10th September 2007 - TALENT AWARD FROM CHANNEL 4

Straitjacket have beaten off competition from hundreds of entrants across the UK to win the 4Talent award for the countries most exciting young creative talent of 2007. Spanning the whole of the creative industries, from filmmakers to fashion designers, the award was chosen by an expert panel of judges from Channel 4 and elsewhere.

With the help of photographer Clarita Lulic, Straitjacket have produced their most innovative and exciting collection of press photographs. The new additions to the press section can be downloaded at a high resolution for use in publications, with permission from Straitjacket and a credit to Clarita.

Straitjacket had another succesful show at the Blueline District event, in Depford, London at the Birds Nest. It is a great showcase for our work and we plan on doing more shows for the organisers.

Straitjacket would like to announce that Keith has left the group. Keith was an original member who has helped to contribute towards the amazing success achieved over the past 3 years and his input and presence within the group will always be recognised and never forgotten. Straitjacket will continue with members Tom and Ian.

For two nights in Canada's Just for Laughs Festival a selection of Staitjacket's sketches were screened with excellent feedback and audience reaction so far with one comedy blog site saying we were the audiences favourite. We look forward to further reactions and welcome your comments. Straitjacket would also like to thank Bob and David for their work in this show.

On July 18th and 19th, Straitjacket are getting some of their sketches shown at the Montreal comedy Festival. The show will be introduced by Bob Odenkirk and David Cross (Mr Show) and will be hosted at The Kola Note in Montreal. Check out our dates section for more details.

4th June 2007 - DOG FACE LET OFF THE LEASH
New direction for E4 show
.

E4's planned sketch show, 'Dog Face' continues to encounter changes since its development over 2 years ago. The latest stage involves a change in the original remit, meaning that a significant body of submitted work will now no longer be used. Straitjacket's material is amongst this and now developments with Objective are the agreed focus for the future. We wish the show well.
